End our housing crisis!

Kensington & Chelsea faces a housing emergency. Over 2900 households are waiting for genuinely affordable social housing. Many wait years, often in expensive and insecure temporary accommodation. Properties are bought by foreign investors and left empty, while families and young people find it impossible to find a home. Our Conservative council has let developers get away with not meeting their 35% target for affordable homes.

We’re calling on the council to take action to end our housing crisis by...

  1. Enforcing the 35% affordable housing target for new developments, with penalties for developers who don’t comply
  2. Stopping housing associations from selling off social housing by providing match funding to refurbish unused properties
  3. Utilising public land for affordable housing
  4. Prioritising key workers and young families to ensure they have access to affordable housing
