Residents are complaining that our streets, pavements and steps have been taken over by delivery bikes and their riders. Residents feel unsafe.
Deliveroo, JustEats, and Uber Eats are using our streets and pavements as extensions of their businesses without any indication of social responsibility.
The late-night food outlets do not feel that they have any responsibility towards the neighbourhoods in which they operate. Without any meaningful enforcement or sanction plans in place, this is changing the area where we live.
With more late-night food licences being granted, some until 05:00, more residents will complain about the noise, the waste, and the disturbance that the deliveries will make.
Taco Bell have an application in for an extended licence in Earls Court. This application makes no pretence that it will be serving local needs by not permitting customers in after 23:00. This will in effect be a “dark kitchen” – a new business model.
Please sign our petition, to demand that new Licensing applications in Kensington & Chelsea require a credible bike delivery plan. This should specify the responsibilities businesses will undertake to protect residents' quality of life by taking a more active part in managing bikes and riders.
